The need for a standard, up to date history of Israel in biblical times has long been felt. The present work by two well known English scholars is intended to supply this need. The two volumes together form a complete history, but each is independent and complete in itself and can be bought separately. The work has been carried out with the cooperation of many eminent scholars in Great Britain and abroad and is sponsored by the Society for Old Testament Study.
