Frederick North, the 2nd Earl of Guilford KG, PC (April 13, 1732 – August 5, 1792), was a prominent figure in British politics. Popularly referred to as Lord North, he assumed his courtesy title from 1752 to 1790. Lord North served as the Prime Minister of Great Britain from 1770 to 1782, leading the nation during the crucial period of the American War of Independence. Additionally, he held various significant cabinet positions, such as Home Secretary and Chancellor of the Exchequer.
