Seventy Years Young-A History of Norwich Lads Club 1918 - 1988. by Robert Walker
Early in 1988 Don Pratt asked me to write a history of Norwich Lads Club and I accepted, little, knowing how fascinating the research would prove to be, or indeed how long it would take. In April I set about the task and it was completed 18 months later.
Throughout its long history, Norwich Lads Club has experienced many ups and downs and has given thousands of Norwich youngsters countless hours of all that is best in sport and recreation. At least three times the club has been in danger of collapse. It has survived because money, time, effort and dedication have been contributed by generations of good friends, all inspired by the ideals of the founder, John Henry Dain. To his memory and to all who have served and still serve the club, this history is dedicated.
