Severn Valley Steam by Sir Gerald Nabarro

The restoration of a closed railway line is always news. The reopening of the Severn Valley Railway is of special interest. This beautiful and historic line will be operated by standard former GWR and LMS steam locos (part is already operational) from Bridgnorth in Shropshire to Kidderminster in Worcestershire. To commemorate this venture Sir Gerald Nabarro has written a fully documented history of the railway from its beginnings in 1862 to its new life and future. Sir Gerald, a director of the Severn Valley Railway Company and President of the Worcester Locomotive Society, has been foremost in the work of restoration and writes with personal knowledge of this 'working railway' and the magnificent photos come from his private collection.
