Located in the charming suburb of Sidcup in south London, Rose Bruford College, previously known as Rose Bruford College of Theatre & Performance, stands as a distinguished drama school. Renowned for its rich heritage, the college offers an array of degree programs encompassing acting, actor musicianship, directing, theatre arts, and various stagecraft disciplines. The institution's origins trace back to 1950 when Rose Elizabeth Bruford, with the support of eminent figures such as poet laureate John Masefield, and celebrated actors Laurence Olivier and Peggy Ashcroft, established The Rose Bruford Training College of Speech and Drama. Notably, Rose Bruford College holds the distinction of pioneering the first-ever acting degree in 1976. With its legacy of excellence, comprehensive curriculum, and illustrious founding members, the college continues to shape aspiring performers into accomplished professionals in the realm of theatre and the arts.

This book was written for teachers of general subjects who are called upon to give lessons in elocution. It is not just another book on speech in schools. It is the matured result of the thoughts and experiences of a highly skilled teacher, whose many ex-pupils will welcome this wise little book.
