The Collected Poems of W H Davies.

William Henry Davies was a Welsh poet and writer born in 1871. Despite his difficult upbringing in an impoverished household, he developed a strong passion for literature at a young age. In his early twenties, Davies spent many years living as a transient tramp in the United Kingdom and United States. During this time he immersed himself in the experiences of homelessness and riding freight trains, which would later inspire his poetry. Davies began publishing poetry in magazines in the 1900s and by 1911 gained recognition with the release of his first book The Autobiography of a Super-Tramp. His simple yet insightful verses on nature and the struggles of the poor made him one of the most beloved poets of the early 20th century in Britain. Though troubled by health problems later in life, Davies produced numerous acclaimed poetry collections up until his death in 1940.
