This collection of dynamics tracks leads the reader right through the year from January 1st To December 31st. In the course of this nearly 100 Diarists, spanning the last four centuries, reveal what was passing through mines on specific days. What was happening behind their own front doors? What was going on in the wider world. Under public stage, they provide eyewitness accounts or celebrated historic events: The Great Fire of London, The aftermath of Monmouth’s Rebellion, Bonnie Prince Charlie's invasion of Northern England. They also share the first news of Nelson's victory at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805 and read what it was like to have fought at Waterloo 10 years later.
