This introduction may look inordinately long for a small book. But it will not, we think be found much cry for little wool. Our lectionary is on an unusual plan and needs all these words to introduce it. In compiling it we have sought to present each lesson as a self-contained unit whilst keeping it short enough for the time usually available in services of Public worship. Where the passage unabridged would be too lengthy for the purpose, It has been shortened by verse omissions.
