The Great Yew Forest the Natural History of Kingley Vale by Richard Williamson.

Written by the son of Henry Williamson of "Tarka the Otter" fame, this affectionate portrait of a nature reserve nestling in the chalk downs above Chichester in west Sussex covers both the vegetation (mainly Yew forest and chalk grassland) and fauna (animals, birds, insects). An appendix gives lists of plants, butterflies & moths, other insects, birds etc. recorded from the reserve. Beautifully illustrated with a map, monochrome photographs, and attractive line drawings in the text.
